Zantrex 3
Ephedrine Free Dietary Supplement
Zantrex 3 Overview
|
Zoller Labs, the manufactures of Zantrex 3, claim Zantrex 3 is America's hottest new super pill which delivers 546% more weight loss than leading ephedrine based diet pills. They say that Zantrex 3 is way beyond ephedrine, way beyond fat-burners, way beyond anything on the market. Zantrex 3 is a new category of bifurcated weight loss compounds providing both rapid weight loss and incredible energy.

Yikes! 546% more weight loss than leading ephedrine based diet pills they say? What a ridiculous and dangerous claim! To put this into perspective lets VERY conservatively assume we've been losing 1 to 2 lbs per week with our "favorite ephedrine based diet pills". This would work out to 4 to 8 lbs per month, which I think we can all agree this is fairly achievable. So now I hear if I take Zantrex-3 I will enjoy 546% more weight loss!? Well if I do the math correctly that means I should expect 5.46 times more weight loss than I've been experiencing, or 21.8 to 43.7 lbs per month – yeah that's believable (heavy sarcasm)! I think we can all agree this is absurd, and if possible would land us in the emergency room pronto.
The best way I've found to gauge the effectiveness of any dietary supplement is listen to the customers who've used the product, which in the case of Zantrex 3 is fairly positive. Many customers I've personally heard from, and from reviews I've read on-line, customers like Zantrex 3 because it works. However, customers are quick to note that the side effects of this diet pill are severe. So bad in fact that many stop taking Zantrex 3 after 2 weeks because they can no longer stand the side effects, specifically the stomach pain and headaches.
The bottom line? From customer reviews it sounds like this diet pill works, that is if you can put up with the side effects. If, however, you're sensitive to either
caffeine
or
niacin
this weight loss supplement is certainly not for you. Personally I maintain the only true way to permanently lose weight is to adopt new lifestyle habits, including a regular exercise routine and healthy
diet plan - supplements or no supplements.
Zantrex 3 Results
It's funny what customers are saying about Zantrex 3. It seems many customers have a love-hate relationship with this diet pill, which one customer summed up nicely with "I hate it and love it!" Zantrex 3 apparently works for many but unfortunately the side-effects from using such a potent weight loss supplement are strong.
Those who were positive about Zantrex 3 enjoyed its appetite suppression properties and the jolt of energy they get after one serving. Those customers who lost the most significant weight were those who used the energy boost to exercise. For customers who reported weight loss the range varied from 6 to 12 lbs over a one month period.
Customers who were negative about Zantrex 3 complained about – you guessed it – the nasty side effects! Many negative reviews did confirm they were able to successfully lose weight with Zantrex 3 but felt it wasn't worth it because of how sick they felt after taking the diet pills. Such nasty side effects are most certainly due to the large dose of
caffeine
that's packed into each Zantrex 3 serving. The best way to minimize the sick feeling is always take Zantrex 3 with food.
Zantrex 3 Dosage
Many Zantrex 3 customers have mentioned they take a much lower dose than is recommended. From the sounds of it one pill in the morning, or one pill before a workout is all they need. Many have also recommenced that Zantrex 3 be taken with a lot of water to help reduce the chance of being sick.
It's important to always read and follow the directions on the product label before taking any dietary supplements. Often manufactures change their formulas which may or may not result in a change with the recommended dosage.
At the time of writing the recommended dosage for Zantrex 3 is to take two capsules with a full glass of water, 15-30 minutes before main meals. Not to exceed 2 servings in any 8-hour period. Remember, the calorie-reducing properties of Zantrex 3 are activated by food. For a significant energy boost, take 2 capsules anytime as needed.
Note: For persons sensitive to the effects of xanthines (i.e., caffeine and caffeine-like stimulants) start by taking only 1 capsules as directed and do not exceed a total of 2 capsules per day. Limit the use of caffeine-containing medications, foods or beverages while taking this product because too much
caffeine
may cause nervousness, irritability, sleeplessness and occasionally, rapid heart beat.
Zantrex 3 Ingredients
Zantrex 3 almost entirely consists of a proprietary blend cleverly named "Zantrex™-3." Personally I really dislike it when supplement companies hide ingredients in proprietary blends. Such blends provide NO VALUE to the end customer, they only serve to protect the manufacturer's "precious" formula, sound good in marketing literature, and for those easily fooled they may incorrectly perceive these ingredients as valuable. I'm a firm believer that the customer should have a right to know what ingredients they're consuming and in what proportions.
That said let's try and breakdown Zantrex 3 as best we can ...
The one Zantrex 3 ingredient we can be sure of is the
niacin.
Although we don't know what type of niacin, there are in fact two chemical forms – nicotinic acid and niacinamide. In high doses these two types of niacin have been shown to affect the body differently. Nicotinic acid has been shown to lower bad cholesterol and triglycerides, and increase good cholesterol; while niacinamide has been shown to effectively control blood sugar levels, possibly controlling cravings for sweets. If I had to guess I would assume Zoller Labs would have used the second type to control sugar cravings, but from the label there is no way to be sure.
As for the
caffeine
level we can be sure this formula contains a very heavy dose. The ingredients
yerba maté,
guaraná seed,
green tea,
kola nut, cocoa nut, and the thea sinensis complex all contain varying levels of caffeine and other xanthine alkaloids including theobromine and theophylline. Caffeine has been known to promote weight loss by suppressing appetite, stimulating metabolic rate, and enhancing physical performance.
As for the other ingredients included in Zantrex 3:
- green tea,
may produce mild thermogenic effects and increase calorie expenditure;
- piper nigrum (or piperine), enhances the absorption of nutrients by increasing the body's metabolic rate, which may also positively affect thermogenesis;
- schizonepeta, may help to prolong the increased thermogenic effects of other ingredients; and
- ginseng, damiana, and maca root, have been known to enhance energy, reduce depression and relieve stress.
Ingredients (serving size 2 capsules):
niacin (B3) 30 mg;
Zantrex-3™ 1312mg, proprietary blend:
yerba maté (leaf),
caffeine,
guaraná (seed),
damiana (leaf, stem),
green tea (leaf),
kola nut, schizonepeta (spica), piper nigum (fruit), tibetan ginseng (root), panax ginseng (root), maca root, cocoa nut, thea sinensis complex (leaf); other ingredients: rice flour.
Zantrex 3 Side Effects
The manufacturer for Zantrex 3 warns the side effects from the
niacin (vitamin B3)
may cause temporary skin flushing, redness or itching in those who are sensitive to Niacin. They suggest if such side effects occur, they are only temporary and will subside in a matter of minutes.
From what I've heard from Zantrex 3 customers, and from reviews I've read on-line, many people experience side effects with these diet pills. Side effects which Zantrex 3 customers have mentioned include anxiousness, nervousness, feeling jittery, dizziness, moodiness, headaches, nausea, bloating, stomach pain, chest pains, trouble breathing, panic attacks, and
red rash (lasting 20 min or less). It's quite likely many of these side effects are due to the high dose of
caffeine,
which taken alone has been associate with sleeplessness, dizziness, rapid heartbeat, nausea, irritability, heart palpitations, headaches, diarrhea, tremors, and vomiting.
The high dose of
caffeine
in these diet pills may cause severe withdrawal symptoms when you finally decide to discontinue using Zantrex 3. Such symptoms may include headache, fatigue, depression, irritability, difficulty concentrating, muscle pain, and in extreme cases flu-like symptoms such as nausea and vomiting. For this reason you may consider rationing enough Zantrex 3 pills so over the last couple weeks you slowly reduce the dosage down to one pill a day – and then perhaps to even one pill every second day.
Is Zantrex 3 Safe?
The manufacturer for Zantrex 3 recommends anyone with hypertension, high blood pressure, diabetes, heart trouble, or who's sensitive to stimulants should not take Zantrex-3. They also admit one serving contains 320mg of
caffeine
and therefore suggest limiting the use of caffeine containing medications, foods, or beverages while taking Zantrex 3.
The two ingredients which immediately strike me as potentially reacting negatively for some individuals are caffeine and niacin. Caffeine isn't really that huge of a deal, but the content in one serving of Zantrex 3 is equivalent to three cups of coffee! For those who react negatively to this ingredient you may want to avoid Zantrex 3 or at least take it at a reduced dosage until you "feel it out". The
niacin
content is also very high, a daily dose of niacin from Zantrex 3 can range from 30 to 90mg depending on the number of servings (the RDA for niacin is 20mg). Those individuals with a niacin intolerance may develop a red itchy rash, as well as a headache and possibly a lightheaded feeling.
While researching Zantrex-3 I ran across one serious report where a young lady reacted negatively to the niacin in the diet pill. She said she was instantly thrown into a panic attack and immediately a vicious sweat and itchy rash developed; her throat closed up and she was rushed to emergency where she luckily fully recovered.
The manufacturer's warning:
Warning: This product contains a significantly potent xanthine (i.e.
caffeine
and caffeine-like stimulants) mixture, in excess of 200 mg per regular 2-capsule serving. Therefore, Zantrex-3 is not intended for use by pregnant or lactating women. Consult your physician before use especially if you are sensitive to stimulants. For occasional use only.
Niacin
(Vitamin B-3) may cause temporary skin flushing, redness or itching in those persons who are sensitive to niacin. If they occur, these temporary side effects will subside in a matter of minutes. If your health-care provider has any questions, ask him or her to call 1-800-898-5153.
